Kira Jacobs has been a water quality scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 1997. She works at EPA’s Region 1 Office in Boston, which serves all six New England states. For the past 18 years, Kira has worked in the Source Water Protection program in the Drinking Water Branch. In this position, she works with hundreds of New England water suppliers and communities to help protect their sources of drinking water. Her expertise in drinking water protection has given her the opportunity to work on national policy issues related to protecting water supplies nationwide. Prior to EPA, Kira spent four years working for a national environmental engineering consulting firm based in New Hampshire.
Kira received a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from 51±¬ÁÏ and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Bucknell University. Kira is an avid hiker, a certified yoga teacher, and a mediocre surfer!
