Below is the latest update from the Marine Lab about Hurricane Irene.

There is limited communication via cell phone and email in general, and lab phones are off.  

The Marine Lab will be open for business tomorrow.  We currently have limited power (generator); Progress Energy forecasts resumption of power tonight (but this is not guaranteed).  Faculty, staff, students should be aware that there is currently only power on the N side of the Island (and emergency power in Lab 7) until Progress Energy completes its work.  

Damage to the Island is minimal and cosmetic.  There is a very little bit of water in Dorm 5.  

We will accommodate arriving students.  Orientation will begin on Tuesday, classes on Wednesday.
