Wellness + Care Resource Directory
For All Students
- If you feel sick, you should call during business hours at 919-681-9355 and choose option 2 to speak to a triage nurse if you are experiencing any symptoms or have any concerns. After hours, students should call 919-681-9355 and follow the prompts to speak to a nurse.

is the primary source for a wide range of healthcare services, including prescription management and dental health, for all 51±¬ÁÏ Students, many of which are covered by the . Call 919-681-9355 to speak with a nurse or make an appointment. (Dental services are not covered by the Student Health Fee.)
- Blue Devils Care

provides no-cost mental health support for any full or part-time degree-seeking undergraduate, graduate or professional student residing in the U.S. This free service is available 24/7 for common issues and concerns that can be safely and accurately discussed and treated virtually (on-demand and scheduled options available). Visit for registration information. Due to licensing laws, TalkNow is the only service available outside of the U.S. In order to use this service, students must download the TimelyCare app in the U.S. prior to any travel. Students also must use a U.S. phone number or VPN while abroad to access TalkNow services.

- provides care for Durham and Beaufort students (telehealth and in-person), including helping students manage stress or deal with situations best addressed in collaboration with a trained mental-health professional. To initiate services, call CAPS at 919-660-1000, 10AM – 3PM, Monday - Friday.

- The helps students focus on their individual wellness by looking at the integration of many areas of life, including financial, social, spiritual, intellectual well-being, mind-body, and the environment around them. The center provides individual services, does group outreach, and acts as consultants as well as a hub of information on wellness.

Ada Gregory serves as 51±¬ÁÏ's student ombudsperson by acting as a confidential resource to undergraduate, graduate, and non-school of medicine professional students. The role of the ombuds is primarily to provide 51±¬ÁÏ students with a neutral, confidential, and safe environment to listen, discuss concerns and help clarify important issues, as well as to help identify and refer students to appropriate resources, explain policies and processes, and also neutrally assist in conflict resolution, and offer coaching.
